Rev. Gilbert H. Caldwell
I, too, sing America,
I am the darker brother,
They send me to eat in the kitchen
When company comes,
But I laugh,
And eat well,
And grow Strong.
TOMORROW,
I'll sit at the table,
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the Kitchen",
Then Besides,
They'll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed.
Someone has said in the last few days; "Making history does not erase history."
My wish is that all of our friends could understand with Grace and me, that
this moment is so precious and powerful to us, because rather than erasing
our history, we remember it.
